Precision machining complex geometries

The Ultrasonic 30 linear is available for 5-axis precision machine design for production of complex workpieces from advanced materials. Enabling this precision component production in the <5µm range, as well as surface qualities of Ra <0.1µm, is a highly precise, long-term stable gantry design along with dual drive in the Y-axis and integral temperature control. Not only are the drives, guides, and spindle temperature-controlled, but so are the machine bed, control cabinet, as well as all media.

The linear drives in X, Y, Z achieve maximum accelerations of >1.2G and 50m/min. rapid traverse. With the very large swivel range in the B-axis of the worktable of ±120° and the fully integrated infinitely rotating 360° rotary axis, both with torque technology, the Ultrasonic 30 linear is optimally equipped for highly flexible 5-axis simultaneous machining. The basic machine is equipped with a powerful 19kW motor spindle with integrated shaft cooling, HSK-40 tool holder and 40,000rpm standard. In addition to the 30-fold tool changer with double gripper, the chain magazine is optionally available for 60 or 120 tools.

The Ultrasonic 30 linear is equipped with the Operate 4.5 on Siemens 840D solutionline. Operate 4.5 is the new system platform from DMG MORI for all machines with Siemens control – from entry to high-end class. Operate 4.5 comprises the entire automation technology of a machine tool, from the drives to the CNC control. Furthermore, Operate 4.5 provides users with a standard user interface for all technologies.
