Teknor Apex highlighted two key advancements in materials for the healthcare sector while exhibiting at MD&M West earlier this month.

Thermoplastic elastomers as silicone alternatives for tubing: Building on the success of the new MD-90000 Series of medical-grade thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) for demanding biopharmaceutical tubing applications, Teknor Apex showcased these materials as a cost-effective and high-performance alternative to silicone tubing. These TPEs offer excellent clarity, flexibility, chemical resistance, and biocompatibility, making them ideal for a wide range of medical applications, including drug delivery, fluid transfer, and analytical instrumentation.

New line of DOTP-plasticizer based PVC products: Teknor Apex also introduced a new line of DOTP-plasticizer based products, APEX 32044RV & APEX 33044RV, that extends its portfolio of next-generation medical PVC compounds for the global market. These cost-effective materials are formulated to meet specific performance requirements for medical devices and components. They offer excellent processability, biocompatibility, and regulatory compliance, making them a valuable option for medical device manufacturers.
