Due to the combined tolerances of a bush’s bore and a shaft’s diameter, accuracy can be affected by increased dynamic friction caused by preloading (clearance). Minute differences in preloading (see accompanying illustration of Radial Clearance between Slide Bush and Shaft) are difficult and time consuming to adjust. In some extreme cases, designs have been sacrificed to sidestep this problem - resulting in higher component production costs.

NB’s FIT Series of slide bush and shaft assemblies optimize clearance between shaft and bush. NB's precision manufacturing assures customers of the best clearance for their needs.

There is no need to accept maximum clearances of + 17 microns when NB’s FIT series offers just + 4 microns.

Shaft end placement deviation is reduced 70% from the standard 0.046mm when compared with the FIT Series which is only 0.011mm.

Because NB achieves a perfect ‘fit’, you can take advantage of the cost savings afforded by specifying a standard slide bush, slide rotary bush or stroke bush rather than designing in clearance adjustable housings and trying to make do.
