Designed to work seamlessly alongside GF Machining Solutions additive manufacturing systems or with any other OEM powder bed fusion printers, the CUT AM 500 horizontal wire EDM quickly, efficiently, and safely separates additive manufactured metal parts from build plates measuring up to 500mm x 500mm. This precise, affordable, and automation-ready machine offers medical manufacturers an alternative to the use of standard vertical-configured EDM equipment or other cutoff methods, such as band saws, while ensuring superior geometrical accuracy and assembly readiness.
With the CUT AM 500, manufacturers eliminate those issues surrounding the use of band saws, in particular geometric inaccuracy, loss of workpiece material (kerf) and part damage. The CUT AM 500 also provides clean, contamination-free, and damage-free cutting, which is critical in medical part production. Spotlighting advanced medical manufacturing, GF Machining Solutions will demonstrate its CUT AM 500 horizontal wire EDM at this year’s MD&M West 2022 show, April 12-14, in Anaheim, California. Visitors to booth #3401 will experience first-hand how this patented technology developed specifically for additive component separation, combined with GF Machining Solutions application expertise and other technologies, can optimize medical part manufacturing.
During the show, visitors to the GF Machining Solutions booth will also learn more about the company’s new Medical Center of Competency, scheduled to open later this year in Lincolnshire, Illinois. The new center, housed in the company’s North American headquarters, will provide medical manufacturers with strategies and technologies for improving the production of medical instruments, orthopedic and trauma implants, consumables, dental parts, packaging and more.
