Beckwood’s Linear Servo Press technology

Beckwood Press Company, a leading manufacturer of custom hydraulic and servo-electric presses, automation systems, and the Triform line of precision forming equipment, will unveil their new product line, Beckwood LSP, at FABTECH in Atlanta. Visitors to booth B5507 will see first-hand the new era of press technology that combines the flexibility of hydraulic presses with the performance of servo-mechanical presses, without the use of hydraulic or mechanical flywheel systems.

New to the press industry, the patents-pending Linear Servo Press line uses fewer components to create force resulting in cost savings, increased throughput, and easy set-up. It is ideal for modern manufacturers performing every application from compression molding to metal forming and is available at a competitive acquisition cost.

The model LSP-250-3660 on display will feature 250 tons of force rated anywhere in the stroke via an all-electric actuation system with two linear servo actuators, a 36" x 60" forming area, and production-level speeds. The technology requires no crankshaft, counterbalance, flywheel, centralized lubrication, or hydraulic power unit and results in no scheduled maintenance throughout millions of cycles.

Explore the intuitive programming and cycle parameters with fully configurable speeds, pressures, and positions. Programming infrastructure not only allows for full control with flexible recipe creation but strict part traceability, tonnage monitoring, and overload protection to increase die life. Learn about the modes of operation, and watch the press reach tight positional and pressure accuracies. See the real-time data logging and acquisition system with high-resolution graphing capabilities.

Beckwood will host a cocktail reception on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 3pm in booth B5507 to celebrate the product unveiling. Product Managers will be available to answer questions, and visitors are encouraged to try the press for themselves.

“We are excited to unveil LSP at FABTECH in Atlanta,” said Beckwood president Jeffrey Debus. “This product line is truly a disrupter because it merges only the best aspects of servo-mechanical and hydraulic presses into one machine and is a great example of Beckwood’s commitment to staying on the forefront of manufacturing technology through continuous innovation.”
