What is automation and what do you need? Automation can include Industry 4.0/Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) initiatives such as digital transformation, flexible production, and smart manufacturing. It can also include industrial scanning and machine vision cameras. Still, it could mean implementing cobots and robots – which require end-of-arm tooling. All of these are areas to consider, especially as companies are finding it harder to find skilled workers to run machines. Yet it goes beyond that. Whether you have one machine or multiple factories, automation solutions are vast and varied depending on the need, and they should also scale with a company – whether it’s the cobot/robot, EOAT, Industry 4.0/IIoT. The goals of automation are to increase production, accuracy, visibility, traceability, and overall efficiency for any size operation.
