REGO-FIX officially opened its Center for Machining Excellence (CME) October 24, 2024, at the company’s North American headquarters in Whitestown, Indiana. The 12,000ft2 manufacturing educational and advancement facility houses a range of cutting-edge technology and support from CME partners and serves as a hub for industry innovation that’s accessible to manufacturers and industry thought leaders worldwide.
The CME’s initial roster of manufacturing partners includes Swiss-based Tornos machine, German-based KERN Microtechnik and SolidCAM, and Japan-based Kitamura Machinery. In addition to furthering industry technology and advances, REGO-FIX’s CME manufacturing partners have direct access to customers, prospects, training opportunities, and markets throughout the country.
The facility also provides local universities and technical schools a unique opportunity to partner with REGO-FIX and its manufacturing partners for hands-on learning experiences.
As REGO-FIX General Manager Americas Bill Obras explained during the opening celebrations, “The state of Indiana has 500 active apprentices in right now…with a goal to really expand it over the next 5 to 10 years. The state wants a place where they can bring apprentices once a quarter for two or three days to learn about things beyond what they can learn in their factory as an apprentice. Learn best practices for 5-axis machining, best practices for cutting with unique cutting tools, and so much more. So, we have proposed that the CME can be that place and then all our partners have expertise that can help train these apprentices. I wanted everyone to know that this program would benefit all of us. We must get the young people trained. We’ve got to get young people into this industry. It’s so important.”
The CME amenities include a 165" video wall with advanced audio-visual capabilities for presentations and recordings along with furnished private office spaces, showrooms with options for adjoining hospitality and live partner demonstrations areas.
