In 2023, Bourn & Koch and Mollart Machinery were both welcomed into the InCompass portfolio through two acquisitions completed just days apart. To leverage the strengths of both organizations, Mollart Machinery's production operations and field service support, previously based in Chessington, United Kingdom, will be based out of Bourn & Koch's facility in Rockford, IL, USA. Ongoing support from Mollart's headquarters in Chessington will ensure a seamless transition.
Mollart Machinery has a rich history, having designed and manufactured Deep Hole Drilling machines for over three decades. Their extensive product line includes gundrilling, BTA deep hole drilling machines, micro-drilling, multi-spindle pellet die drilling, and more.
Bourn & Koch, recognized for their expertise in manufacturing Blanchard Grinders, Gear Hobbers, and Fellows Gear Shapers, is well-equipped to take over the production of Mollart's Deep Hole Drilling machines. In addition to manufacturing, Bourn & Koch is also prepared to provide comprehensive service for Mollart's existing machines in the field.
Production of Mollart's machine tools began transitioning to Bourn & Koch's Rockford, Illinois plant at the start of 2024. With numerous orders for Mollart machines already in their backlog, Bourn & Koch is rapidly advancing in mastering deep hole drilling processes. Their Field Service Technicians, located throughout the U.S., bring years of experience with Bourn & Koch OEM machine tools. Active collaboration with Mollart’s team will ensure smooth installations and continued field service for the new product lines, with several installations in North America and Europe already under their belt.
InCompass has a global team of service technicians, now including the legacy Mollart team, still based in the UK and Europe, that will handle global service. With many of Mollart’s customers based in North America and manufacturing in Rockford, headquartering field service and support in Rockford will significantly reduce service response times for customers in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
