Millstone Medical Outsourcing announced today the official opening of the company's new facility in Fall River, MA. Millstone will hold an Open House on Friday, April 24, for customers, vendors, state and local dignitaries, and friends of the company. Congressman Barney Frank and Fall River Mayor Robert Correia are scheduled to attend. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Senator John Kerry are also invited to participate. The new space marks a number of important milestones. Since Millstone's inception in 2000, the company has expanded three times in Fall River, MA, the number of employees grew from 77 in 2008 to 147 strong, and the company went from start-up to serving the world's top medical device manufacturers.
"We are excited to add 30,000 square feet to our Fall River operations to meet customer demand for advanced inspection and clean room services," says Christopher Ramsden, CEO of Millstone Medical Outsourcing. "The new facility is specifically designed to enable Millstone to scale with medical device manufacturers and solve specialized inspection, packaging, and distribution challenges."
Located at 580 Commerce Drive, the new center includes a world-class advanced mechanical inspection area, a 5,000 square foot state-of-the-art clean room, and significant floor space for packaging. The inspection cell will feature state-of-the-art equipment, including optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), vision systems, and micro-hites. Although similar to the Class 10,000/ISO 7-rated clean room operated at the company's original Fall River facility, the new clean room incorporates the ultra sonic clean lines within environmentally controlled areas. Finally, the new facility can be monitored remotely for particulate and environmental conditions.
