DMG / Mori Seiki USA Announces Innovation Days

DMG / Mori Seiki USA has announced the annual Innovation Days event will take place at the company’s Headquarters and Chicago Technical Center on May 24-26.

Innovation Days 2010 will mark the first joint event of DMG / Mori Seiki USA under the partnership that began
April 1, 2010. Both Dr. Masahiko Mori and Dr. Rüdiger Kapitza are expected to attend and give an address to
launch the US collaboration. Other presentations will encompass a wide variety of topics, including technical
and new product seminars, peer learning sessions and industry outlook for the coming year.

“We’re excited to show all attendees the new DMG / Mori Seiki USA,” said Thomas R Dillon, President of
DMG / Mori Seiki USA. “This collaboration brings together the absolute best in technology, engineering
solutions, training, service, and parts to manufacturers across the United States. It also affords us the
opportunity to pursue additional business with companies who are looking for innovative ways to bring
positive, tangible difference to their customers."

Visitors will have the opportunity to see more than 20 new model CNC machines manufactured by DMG and
Mori Seiki. Cutting demonstrations will concentrate on process integration, automation and complex
machining, with partner companies exhibiting tooling, software and accessories.

The inaugural DMG / Mori Seiki USA event at the company’s headquarters will also coincide with the launch of
the all-new NZL2500 machine. The NZL2500 is the newest lathe in the Mori Seiki lineup that features two
turrets and offers high productivity of small-diameter workpieces like shafts and flanges.

Both the ECO and DURA Series lathes and mills will also be showcased in cutting demonstrations at the threeday
event. Each series was developed with a goal in mind of providing flexible cost-saving options. Superb
efficiency, innovative technology and a competitive price are the outstanding features of both the ECO and
DURA machine tools.

The accurate and reliable ECO and DURA Series machines also contribute to the success of Andretti Autosport.
Innovation Days will mark the first venture of DMG / Mori Seiki USA’s sponsorship of the IZOD IndyCar Series
race team. Guests will have the opportunity to meet an Andretti Autosport team driver and attend a technical
presentation about IndyCar design and manufacturing on May 25.

Also highlighted at Innovation Days 2010 will be the innovative new products from DMG / Mori Seiki’s
engineering group, MTL. MTL realized significant achievements in the past year and will exhibit several of
them, including pinch milling and grind hardening techniques. MTL’s mission to develop disruptive
technologies that offer a solution beyond the machine is embodied in the revolutionary work that will be
presented.
