1. ZONE3 - powerful measurement software

ZONE3 metrology software puts OGP’s 75 years of technical innovation knowledge into your measurement system for faster, easier, and more productive measurements than ever before. Its interface clearly displays relationships between parts, sensors, datum alignments, and the measurement results. ZONE3 uses CAD models, including product and manufacturing information (PMI), and other innovative features to automatically and effortlessly generate measurement routines.

2. ZONE3 improves measurement practices

Regardless of company size or industry, ZONE3 provides tools that greatly optimize quality control. Path generation tools use CAD nominals to automatically create optimal paths for each measurement, greatly reducing programming time. Parallel processing of video finders, combined with intelligent routine optimization of machine movements, allow multiple features to be measured simultaneously, resulting in decreased runtimes. Additionally, offline programming of any sensor allows parts to be continuously measured while new programs are written.

3. ZONE3 ease of use

Whether you’re walking up for some quick caliper measurements or programming a turnkey project for use in an automation cell, ZONE3 is intuitive and easy to use. The simple user interface logically arranges key features and keeps them visible at all times. The same procedures are used for all sensors. Learn one and you’ve learned them all. Animations visually validate each operation before it’s executed, providing immediate visual feedback to avoid common errors and unintended consequences. For production use, LaunchPad, a simple but highly configurable user interface, can let operators with minimal training easily launch and run programs.

4. ZONE3 supported measurement systems, sensors

Truly sensor independent with no sensor considered primary, ZONE3 can operate on any of OGP’s multisensor metrology systems with any combination of video, laser, touch, and scanning probes. These include the widely recognized SmartScope family, Fusion Large Field-of-View systems, and FlexPoint Coordinate Measuring Machines. ZONE3 also supports 4th- and 5th-axis rotaries to characterize features in multiple views while maintaining a common coordinate system.

5. ZONE3 shines in regulated environments

Compliance with complex regulatory requirements, such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, requires much more than protecting passwords and restricting user access to files and folders on a corporate network. ZONE3 has built-in capabilities that directly support operational requirements of a regulatory-compliant environment. User access permissions are directly linked to Windows® groups so specific users can be restricted from running or editing ZONE3 projects. For those with permission to run projects, audit trail reports automatically log all user actions. Electronic signatures of measurements results can be applied in the form of Windows® user credentials or biometric data (e.g., fingerprint). Even if you are not under the jurisdiction of any regulatory agency, these and many other ZONE3 capabilities may ensure adherence to your quality management system’s internal requirements for a rigorous metrology environment.
