Last summer Walter introduced Tiger-tec cutting material for machining steel. The innovation behind this product was the use of PVD technology applied to aluminium oxide coating. This advance in design allows the service life of tools to be doubled. Walter is applying this technology to its new indexable milling cutters. The new models still offer users a choice between the two cutting material grades, WSM35 and WSP45.
WSM35 is suitable for materials with difficult cutting properties and stainless austenitic steel qualities, while WSP45 is the preferred option for materials with difficult cutting properties, low-alloy to high-alloy steel types, ferritic, and austenitic stainless steels.
