Simplified automated cell setup
Different types of robots designed by multiple manufacturers can be connected to CNC machines equipped with the Sinumerik 828D family using the Sinumerik Integrate Run MyRobot/EasyConnect interface to perform handling tasks. Companies of almost any size can set up automated cells, including serial machines – even with different types of CNCs using the same standard interface.
Additional features are simple optimization of work processes on machine tools, mobile condition monitoring, and remote maintenance.
Sinumerik Integrate Run MyRobot/EasyConnect is based upon a standard defined by the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association and the German Engineering Association for connecting robots or handling systems to machine tools. The robots connect through Ethernet (Profinet RT) or using I/O signals. Using the interface, operators can synchronize processes between machine tools and robots in automated production cells.
Remote diagnostic capabilities
- Sinumerik Integrate Access MyMachine supports remote diagnostics via private network or Internet
- Allows data exchange with connected machines from a Windows PC
- IP address used within the plant network
- Quick overview of machine history, machine access
- Permits uploading and downloading of machine data, files, trip recorders, and configurable PLC traces
- Text or email notifications in cases of unusual machine conditions
- Fault state monitoring integrates in-house service and maintenance processes

No pilot hole required
The Carmex Tiny Tool line – multi-task CMR – enables users to bore, turn, face, and chamfer with a single tool. The cutting geometry permits machining without a pilot hole, saving time by eliminating an entire operation.
Designed with a vertical coolant hole and a spiral flute, the CMR continually evacuates chips during machining. The CMR Tiny Tool can shorten machine cycle time, and by performing a variety of operations, save money on tooling. Sub-micron carbide, coupled with BMK-grade carbide and advanced PVD triple-layer coating, can improve finish and yield longer tool life.
Available Tiny Tools
- BXC (P30-P50, K25-K40): PVD TiN-coated grade for low cutting speed; wide range of stainless steels
- BMK (K10-K20): Sub-micron grade with advanced PVD triple coating; high heat resistance and smooth cutting operation; general purpose for all materials
- K20 (K10-K30): Uncoated carbide grade; non-ferrous metals, aluminum, cast iron
Toolholder availability
- Standard SIM
- Designed for Swiss machines
- Square shank for internal machining
- Sliding head clamping method for Swiss-type lathes
