An advanced, medical-grade, 65W, single-output, convection-cooled, AC/DC power supply, the MB65S, meets the new safety standards of IEC 60601-1-2 fourth edition EMC requirements. New models of the MB65S are designed for next-generation medical equipment including patient monitoring, surgical, imaging, and home health care devices, and laboratory equipment that demands a higher level of EMC, EMI, and AC input performance.
Designed for compact use, the models feature a form factor of 2" x 3.5" x 1.3", suitable for portable applications. Models are approved to AAMI ES/CSA C22.2/EN/IEC60601-1, third edition with 2x Means of Patient Protection (MOPP), and are appropriate for type BF isolation applications.
The models feature universal AC input of 85VAC to 264VAC and DC output range from 12V to 48V. The family is available in Class I or Class II input configurations.
Input/output and temperature monitoring/alarms are standard. The MB65S power supply operates from -20°C to 70°C and starts at -40°C. With less than 0.5W of no-load power consumption, the power supply is environmentally friendly and will not drain host system batteries when in idle or quiescent mode. The models are self-protected against short circuit, overload, and over-temperature conditions.
The MB65S medical series offers eight standard models and comes with a three-year warranty. The RoHS-compliant power supplies meet stringent EMC requirements for applications requiring Class B conducted and Class B radiated EMI performance. In addition, the models are rated at 560,000 hours of calculated mean time between failure (MTBF). Models are fully approved by international safety agencies to the IEC60601-2, third edition safety standard and carry cUL, CAN/CSA, and DEMKO approval markings.
