Utilizing linear motor and direct drive technology, Doosan engineers developed the FM 200/5AX Linear full 5-axis machining center. Designed for simultaneous 5-axis contouring, the machining center offers manufacturers a platform for machining a wide range of complex parts.
The FM200/5AX Linear machining center is built upon a rigid bridge-type base, composed of a highly stable mineral composite material. Because mineral castings absorb vibration at 10 times the rate of iron castings and are much more thermally stable, finished parts are delivered with superior surface finishes, while tool life increases significantly.
High-precision linear motors, providing consistent acceleration/deceleration feed rates with little to no backlash, drive the X-, Y-, and Z-axis on the FM200/5AX Linear. The fourth- and fifth-axis rotary tables are equipped with direct-drive motors to deliver matching levels of performance. The platten size is 7.9" in diameter with a capacity load of 33.1 lb. Travels on the FM 200/5AX Linear are X-axis, 7.9"; Y-axis, 13.4"; and Z-axis, 11.8". Rapid traverse rates on all axes are 1,968.5ipm, with a cutting feed rate of 787ipm.
Spindle speeds of 45,000rpm are achieved with the machine’s 19hp spindle featuring an HSK E40 taper, resulting in minimized vibration and maximized stability. With 24-tool stations as standard, productivity is further increased with the reliability of a direct-drive, servo-driven automatic tool changer. Maximum tool diameter is 2" while maximum tool length and weight is 7.1" and 2.2 lb, respectively.
A Heidenhain CNC control simplifies machining of complex parts with full 5-axis contouring while the Heidenhain TNC control offers an ergonomic swivel pendant and user-friendly 19" screen.
