High-precision, modular gundrilling machine
Designed for drilling deep holes with smaller diameters, the UNE6 compact gundrilling machine is well suited for medical components such as bone screws and surgical instruments that require small-diameter, deep holes in high strength titanium or surgical-grade stainless steel. Featuring a counter-rotating-workpiece headstock for small parts, the machine offers enhanced concentricity. Hole diameters with the UNE6 can be drilled as small as 0.039" (1mm) with diameter-to-depth ratios of more than 100 to 1.
The UNE6 has a cast iron headstock and chip box components, cartridge spindles with premium quality bearings, and a high precision preloaded ball screw feed.
Modular UNE series gundrilling machines are available in a variety of configurations with up to four spindles, a single drilling module, dual spindle-spindle modules, and as single- or dual-module machines. The compact construction of the UNE6 allows for quick installation.
UNISIG provides customers with training for machine operation, process optimization, and gundrill tool sharpening.

Micro-universal hydraulic chucks
Precision hydraulic chucks from WTE Präzisionstechnik GmbH, a unit of the MAPAL Group, offer high radial accuracy and vibration damping. The chucks deliver improved surface quality, reducing microstructure cracking on the tool’s cutting edge and increasing productivity. The hydraulic chucks are manufactured with axial and radial adjustment in the most common shank forms. Using WTE reducing sleeves or hydraulic chuck extensions offers flexibility in the clamping tool as well.
Offered in the hydraulic chuck line are micro-universal chucks developed for high speed micro-machining up to 60,000rpm, delivering concentricity of <0.005mm. Chucks offer a clamping range from 0.2mm to 6.4mm.
AT-A-GLANCE
