Small inserts for thread profiles, pitches

An addition to the Carmex Type B line includes a variety of 11mm inserts for internal thread turning and chamfering operations. Designed for Swiss-style and other precision machining operations, the inserts are engineered from BMA sub-micrograin grade (K20-K30, P20-P40) with advanced PVD coating for high wear- and heat-resistance in a wide range of materials. The inserts are available in most common thread profiles and thread pitch ranges.

The specially engineered profile is precision ground to provide the highest quality threads with superior finish, thanks to reduced cutting forces. The sintered chip-breaker improves chip control and flow, and the inserts are usable for most common materials.

Versatile tools for microdrilling

The GOdrill works with multiple applications and materials and is designed for hole diameters ranging from 1.0mm to 12.7mm (0.0394" to 0.5000"). Design of the GOdrill expands the advantages of modular drills into the small-diameter range. High-end material grades, a wear indicator coating, and proprietary geometries allow shops to utilize the full tool life capacity of the drill. A multi-purpose solid-carbide microdrill, the GOdrill is a tool for those with a need for small- to medium-sized holes at a reasonable price.

Built on Kennametal´s KC7325 grade of solid carbide, the GOdrill also features a multilayer TiAlN-based coating for high, hot hardness. This enables high cutting speeds and provides excellent holemaking, even in minimum-quantity lubrication (MQL) situations. A second TiN top layer serves as a visual wear indicator, useful for achieving full tool life in microdrills.

Minimizing machine tool downtime

HydroFlow sump cleaners are designed to provide effective, thorough, and quick machine cleaning to maintain plant productivity and minimize machine tool downtime. The assortment ranges from economical drum top cleaners and reversible liquid vacuums to top-quality sump cleaners.

The drum top sump cleaner is a vacuum unit that converts an existing open-top drum into a powerful machine tool sump cleaner, sucking up tramp oils, used oil, and waste coolants in a speedy and efficient manner.

The reversible liquid vacuum is designed to connect to a closed-head drum and also can be used to remove lube or hydraulic oils from reservoirs.

Top-of-the line sump cleaners quickly remove the fluid, sludge, and chips from the sump, and filter the sludge and chips from the fluid via the reusable integral filter liner. The systems can be set up to either return the filtered fluid to the sump or transport the fluid to the Eriez Recycling System.

Metal materials for additive manufacturing

A broader variety of titanium and stainless steel materials, including EOS Titanium Ti64ELI and EOS stainless steel 316L, are opening up new fields of application.

EOS Titanium Ti64ELI is a light metal alloy that is corrosion resistant and biocompatible. EOS Titanium Ti64 parts have a chemical composition and mechanical properties corresponding to ASTM F136. Providing a high-detail resolution, this alloy can be processed on an EOSINT M 280 (400W) metal laser-sintering system. Due to its biocompatibility and high grade of purity, it is particularly suited for additive manufacturing of medical implants.

Featuring high ductility, EOS stainless steel 316L is a corrosion-resistant and biocompatible stainless steel optimized for processing on the EOSINT M 280 metal laser-sintering system. EOS stainless steel 316L parts have a chemical composition corresponding to ASTM F138. This alloy is particularly suited for surgical instruments, endoscopic surgery, orthopedics, and implants.

Compact footprint CMM

The new configuration of the Strato-Apex574 coordinate measuring machine (CMM) offers a more compact footprint while still delivering a blend of high-speed operation and highly accurate measurement. The Strato-Apex574 is a compact bridge-type design featuring accuracy as tight as 0.70µm. It has a 0.05µm resolution scale and temperature range of 18°C to 22°C (64.4°F to 71.6°F).

The Strato-Apex line offers high speed and accuracy in measurement that is ensured by a specially designed machine body that has improved rigidity of the structure, a precision guide mechanism, ultra-high precision crystallized glass scales with near-zero thermal expansion, and the incorporation of newly developed compensation technology. A standard vibration-dampening unit is included as a standard accessory to round out the CMM’s advanced capabilities.

Measurement technology

The M3 provides affordable access too quick and easy nano-indentation results under ASTM standards. This next-generation technology replaces the traditional Visual Micro Vickers Hardness Testers. The indentation method is fully automated with no need to observe the indent visually, eliminating user error or problems with image recognition software that may have issues with material color and texture. In addition, this technology can achieve lower load and will work on thin coatings and a range of materials. The fully automated system has a touch screen start that gives automatic average of multiple measurements in minutes. The unit is compact and fully contained with only one standard electrical cable to connect.

Rotary broach tools

Standard rotary broaches, such as hexagon, square, and torx, are always in stock and rotary broaches can be ordered from M-2, M-42, PM M-4, or PM T-15 high speed steel. Coating options are also available as well as custom-cut lengths, tolerances, overall length, dish angle, corner radius, and flat location.

Custom form rotary broach tools can also be manufactured according to specifications, and may include double square, double hex, double D, involute, spline, serration, spur gear, six-lobed, or star and keyway rotary broaches. These rotary broach tools can be used on any horizontal or spindle machine, and can be used with a range of materials.
