Excellent Surface Finish, Part Detail
The Mikron HSM 200U LP (linear performance) milling machine brings speed, efficiency, and precision to the machining of small, highly complex components. With a compact footprint, the machine easily fits into most facilities, accommodating the medical industry’s increased need for lean manufacturing. Via true 5-axis simultaneous high-speed machining, the Mikron HSM 200U LP produces precision workpieces.
Linear motor technology in the main machine axis, combined with optimized direct-drive motors for the B- and C-axis, result in high precision and quality part surface finishes as fine as 0.05μm Ra. In addition, the machine’s 50,000rpm, 11.4hp Step-Tec spindle also assists in providing required surface finish and part detail.
To counteract the high levels of heat that can develop over prolonged periods of high axis feedrates, engineers of the Mikron HSM 200U LP employ a sophisticated thermal management system. Each of the linear axes features a cooling unit to draw the heat out of the machine, systematically, creating geometric stability and high repeatability of movement guidance.
A Heidenhain iTNC 530 control system and smart machining modules provide advanced levels of machine monitoring.

Grinding Wheels Ideal for Swiss-Style Machines
Design of the say`tec line of high performance grinding wheels is for Swiss style screw machines. Tested at MicroSwiss, results show the say`tec is extremely effective in machining parts that require tight tolerances, fine finishes, and no burrs. The say`tec product consists of a hardened steel grinding wheel embedded with a high performance abrasive particle designed to hold up to the rigors of machining exotic steel alloy materials. Results of the testing show the say`tec is extremely effective in machining parts that require tight tolerances, fine finishes, and no burrs. The say`tec product consists of a hardened steel grinding wheel embedded with a high performance abrasive particle designed to hold up to the rigors of machining exotic steel alloy materials.
Some of the benefits include:
- Production of parts with an exceptional finish and no burrs
- Grinding wheel maintains its shape, never requiring dressing
- Abrasive residue does not contaminate coolant since there is no wear of the wheel when in use
- Grinding wheel works with OEM tool holders, requiring no addition tooling
- Recommended for steel alloys
- Available for a wide variety of screw machines.
