Gripping odd-shaped parts

The VariClamp modular clamping system uses a floating mechanism of fixed and moveable jaws and a wide variety of gripper forms to provide custom clamping of irregular-shaped workpieces – including round, curved, elliptical, rectangular, stepped, and slanted parts. VariClamp vises can be configured with any combination of fixed or swiveling jaws and various styles and heights of grippers – including smooth, serrated, soft, high, and with or without stops.

Grippers are added via holes placed throughout the vise to conform to the part shape, and holes are capped and covered when not in use. A swivel mechanism incorporated into the moveable jaw allows for easy clamping of slanted and rough-surfaced parts. The super-low profiles of the fixed and moveable jaws also allow clamping of thin workpieces for heavy-duty cutting and precision processing.

FYI

  • Available with mechanical clamping force multiplier/limiter
  • Force can be set from one ton to four tons
  • Operators can easily set and maintain grip force
  • Available in three sizes – 100mm, 130mm, and 160mm
  • Suitable for use with machining centers
  • Cover prevents chips from falling into the lead-screw and inside the vise

Solvent-based cleaning

Designed for operations with non-halogenated hydrocarbons or modified alcohols under full vacuum, EcoCCore for solvent-based parts cleaning is equipped with two flood tanks, heat recovery, and full-flow plus bypass filtration capabilities.

Improved cleaning quality comes from the preliminary vapor degreasing process where the oil-containing distillate is directed straight into the distilling system instead of being passed into the flood tank. This minimizes oil deposits in the flood tank and contamination of the solvent with oil.

Resulting degreasing performance improvements are particularly beneficial with parts that are to be coated or laser-welded after cleaning. This preliminary vapor-degreasing step offers advantages under elevated oil input conditions or when a second flood tank is used for a preservation treatment.

EcoCCore can use ultrasonic and filtration simultaneously – discharging particles throughout this process cycle, as opposed to conventional systems where they can settle at the bottom of the work chamber before being filtered. Pumps are equipped with variable-frequency drive units and control the volumetric flow rate so the ultrasonic system can effectively discharge particles.

The unit comes with a frequency-controlled rotary drive for rotation and high-accuracy positioning of parts. The removal of internal heating elements eliminates the potential of particle trap points or chip accumulation.
