Smaller Diameter Fiber Optic Borescopes
Through use of Hawkeye Pro MicroFlex fiber optic borescopes, manufacturers of very small machined or molded medical parts and components can now inspect for burrs, surface finish, and other defects inside even the smallest components. At 0.5mm, 0.9mm, and 1.5mm in diameter, the Hawkeye Pro MicroFlex's are the smallest diameter scopes in GLC's Hawkeye line of borescopes.
The Hawkeye Pro MicroFlex produces high quality images via high-resolution –10,000 pixel or 30,000 pixel fiber-optic image bundles. The optic fibers also allow these borescopes to have flexible or semi-rigid flexibility, allowing them to reach into narrow, twisting paths. Hawkeye MicroFlex borescopes are available in lengths ranging from 6" to 39"(150mm – 1m).

Easier Fits for Overcrowded Turrets in Turning Operations
A perpendicular toolholder makes it easier to fit Pentacut 24 grooving and parting tools into overcrowded turrets in high-volume turning operations. It holds the same popular Pentacut five-edged grooving and parting tool, but from a different angle.
The PCHPRL square-shank toolholder clamps the Pentacut insert perpendicular to its axis, so the shank can line up with the spindle's centerline. This creates more tool presentation options while eliminating interference issues in some setups.
Popular and proven for years, the star-shaped Pentacut parting insert provides five straight indexable cutting edges with several types of chipformers. The combination of a very secure clamping system and strong insert design enables grooving, parting, recessing, and chamfering. Users report straighter sidewalls and flatter groove bottoms.
Due to the star-shaped design, the insert survives despite failure on one edge. The other four edges remain intact and useable, leading to much lower tooling labor and inventory costs.
Three toolholder sizes are available in the perpendicular arrangement: 16mm, 20mm, and 24mm cross sections. The tools are suitable for regular turret machines, perpendicular orientation, and gang/turret type CNC lathe machines.

Flexibility when Grinding Cylindrical Workpieces
The ShapeSmart NP5 is a 5-axis precision cylindrical pinch/peel grinding machine with integrated 3-axis robot loader and grinding diameter range from 0.025mm to 20mm (0.001" to 0.787"). The NP5 is ideal for cutting tool blank preparation as well as punch and mold applications requiring complex geometry and high length-to-diameter ratios.
A versatile robot loader, and optional in-process gaging, mean you can successfully grind small batch quantities, as well as guarantee unattended accuracy during longer production runs.
The pinch/peel grinding process is a proven method that provides superior performance and optimal concentricity. With the addition of a fifth axis, users have the ability to grind flats, hexes, and non-concentric cam profiles.
Rollomatics' P4Smart design software combined with the NanoGrind machine control software offers the ability to mix conventional multi-pass roughing with a final, thru-feed, pinch-grinding pass. Glass-scales on the roughing and finishing axes help to achieve the highest level of interpolation accuracy and diameter control while providing a superior surface finish on tapers and radii.
