Complete, hand-held syringe dispensing system
The Micro-Dot manual syringe dispenser combines a precise, infinitely variable and repetitive, hand-held dispenser with a readily available, inexpensive syringe fluid reservoir. The Micro-Dot functions as a complete dispensing system for machine-ready 3mL, 5mL, and 10mL syringes, allowing users to dispense a wide variety of materials with repeatability and precision.
The Micro-Dot is available in two models, lever-actuated and thumb-actuated. The lever-actuated Micro-Dot grants users the freedom to grip the dispenser handle or syringe – whichever is most comfortable for them. With the thumb-actuated model, users are required to hold the dispenser by the handle, limiting the options users have for gripping the dispenser.
The dispenser uses a positive displacement design to advance a plunger in precise increments each time the actuating thumb button or lever is depressed. Setting output volumes is easy, allowing them to be set with just a twist of a control knob. The Micro-Dot can dispense in volumes from microliters to milliliters making it highly versatile.
Because the Micro-Dot is a manual device, it is wireless and cordless, enabling users to move freely to wherever their tasks may be. The Micro-Dot is the perfect tool for a bench-top workstation or a tool belt. The controlled, repeatable dispense and cord-free configuration of this dispenser is ideal for dispensing adhesives, thread lockers, and even lubricants.

Release of WinMax control software upgrade
WinMax8, the most substantial upgrade to Hurco’s WinMax control software, is now available, along with a free trial at hurco.com/winmax. WinMax8 includes advancements to existing features along with a number of new features such as UltiMotion. The result of years of research and development, and a combination of Hurco’s proprietary control technologies and advanced modern control theories, UltiMotion is probably the biggest advancement in control technology since the launch of WinMax. The primary benefit to customers includes the ability to cut higher quality parts in a shorter period, especially for high speed machining, parts with complex geometries, and jobs with repetitive tasks.
UltiMotion’s 3D compensation of machine squareness (perpendicularity), compensation of the mechanical system dynamics, and advanced motion control improve the system accuracy. Hurco’s acceleration and vibration control system reduces vibration and results in smoother motion without sacrificing speed, resulting in better surface quality and longer machine life.
UltiMotion’s rapid cornering capability allows the spindle to travel through corners at high speed with negligible deviation without overshooting or stopping. This is especially beneficial in reducing cycle time when machining parts with many repetitive tasks, such as drilling or tapping. For rigid tapping, UltiMotion deploys a coordinated motion control mechanism that monitors the spindle angle at all times and controls the axes to follow the spindle position. It also has the flexibility to choose higher speed/rpm to retract the tap tool of out the hole.
Other new features include UltiMonitor, Absolute Tool Length, and Tool Change Optimization.

Torque density for more compact, higher performing machines
AKM 8 Servomotors – the latest addition to the Kollmorgen’s AKM motor series, deliver higher torque density to cover the broadest torque/speed range in a housing that is 30% shorter than any standard motor in its class. As a result, machine builders can reduce the size of their machines without sacrificing performance, or they can select a longer stack length to achieve higher performance without having to specify a larger, more expensive motor that would typically require mechanical changes to the machine.
The AKM8 is available in two standard flange/shaft combinations designed to integrate with 80% to 90% of machine builder needs around the globe, with no modifications to the customer flange needed. As standard, AKM8 windings operate at 230VAC, 400VAC, and 480VAC, eliminating the need for voltage transformation. AKM8 motors feature Class F insulation for a temperature rating of 155°C, providing stall torque from 75Nm to 180Nm, operating speeds up to 2,500rpm, and power up to 19.8kW, with bearing lifetime rated to 20,000 hours. These motors are RoHS and REACH compliant, UL listed, and carry the CE mark.
All AKM series motors feature a robust one-piece housing with potted windings for maximum wire isolation and excellent heat dissipation, resulting in robust performance and long life in even the most demanding application environments. Market-standard high resolution feedback options for high- performance/precision or rugged environments are available, including Endat, BISS, Hiperface, and resolver option, among others. AKM motors are available for low or high speed (to 8000rpm) applications, with windings that can be applied to all standard global voltages including 75VDC, 120VAC, 240VAC, 400VAC, and 480VAC.

Brochure Features Control-Flex Couplings
Control-Flex couplings, designed for the precision feedback requirements of encoder applications, feature a unique Control-Flex center disc design. These couplings have a parallel linkage system that minimizes reaction forces due to unavoidable shaft misalignments. Control Flex couplings have high parallel, angular and axial shaft misalignment capabilities with considerably less side loads on shaft bearings and seals. They are designed with clamp-style zero backlash hubs, and have electrically insulating flex components with low weight and inertia. When compared to standard beam style couplings, Control Flex couplings have the added features of clamp hubs and electrical insulation.

Multi-sensor measuring features chromatic white light sensor
The successful O-INSPECT multi-sensor measuring machine enables easy, very accurate, and very efficient inspection of complex parts. In addition, a chromatic white light sensor is also available for O-INSPECT. The white light sensor enables the measurement of parts, which a contact sensor or a camera cannot capture. This includes very small and sensitive workpieces that feature a transparent, glossy, or low-contrast surface. Reflections or lack of contrast, which can impede the correct focusing of a camera, will no longer be a relevant factor. With the addition of a chromatic white light sensor to O-INSPECT, workpieces are measurable with maximum precision.
