Lin Engineering recently introduced the 208 step motor. This 1.8° Bipolar NEMA 8 miniature step motor is intended for applications where space is limited. According to the company, the 208 is the smallest 2-phase hybrid stepper to date.
The motor measures 0.79 in² and is available in two stack sizes - 1.30 in. and 1.69 in. in length. Although it weighs only 0.13 lbs., it is still capable of up to 4.2 oz-in. of holding torque depending on stack size. The 208 is also available with a standard rear shaft extension.
The 208 step motor is ideally suited for applications in the medical, communications, semiconductor, and robotics industries.
