Siemens new system platform for CNC applications covers a complete range of CNC requirements. The new Sinumerik Solution Line comprises the panel-based Sinumerik 802D sl, the PC-based Sinumerik 840Di sl, and the flagship Sinumerik 840D sl with a panel-based version as well as a PC-based version.
The hardware and software can be scaled independently of each other depending on the application. This provides a scalable, networked and open automation solution for just about all CNC applications.
The network-centric architecture of the Sinumerik Solution Line can be effectively combined with Sinamics to design standalone as well as plant-wide automation solutions. Additionally, standard Ethernet and Profibus protocols are used for machine tool communication.
The system platform Solution Line is also characterized by the open architecture of its HMI and real-time NC Handling simple to complex CNC requirements gets easier.Kernel. This allows the integration of application-specific functions with real-time capability, as well as a customized design of the user interface.
Furthermore, for the first time, thin client technology is being utilized for operator input. In addition, the drives communication system via Drive Cliq provides improved diagnostics facilities and fast recognition of the drive via the electronic type plate.
The new Sinumerik Solution Line is fully compatible with the existing Sinumerik CNC family. This simplifies changing to the new system platform and should eliminate any user concerns and/or fears.
