MicroMo Electronics, Inc. announces the expansion of its DC Micromotor product line with the addition of its Series 1224…SR. With an external motor-diameter of only 12mm and a length of 24mm, the power-to-volume ratio is truly impressive. This is achieved through a combination of the "System FAULHABER" ironless rotor and Neodymium rare earth magnets, giving it a stall torque of 5.43mNm and speeds of up to 13,800rpm. The precious metal commutation allows operation at low starting voltages due to inherent low contact resistance. The 1.5mm-diameter motor shaft ensures high rotational stability. The housing of the motor is black to facilitate optimum heat dissipation.
The Series 1224…SR DC Micromotor can be combined with a gear head and encoder for a complete miniature DC drive system. The planetary, spur and zero-backlash gear heads are available in both 10mm and 12mm diameters with various reduction ratios, allowing an output torque of up to 300mNm. The two-channel magnetic encoders allow for precise control of speed and direction of rotation as well as the positioning of the drive shaft.
Series 1224…SR motors with 6 volt and 12 volt windings are immediately available from stock with a 24-48 hour turnaround.
