At throughput speeds up to 10,000 parts/min., Presence PLUS P4 AREA Vision Sensors from Banner Engineering Corp. use BLOB (Binary Large Object) and Gray Scale tools to monitor and inspect the presence and shape of a defined area.
These sensors are ideal for a wide range of applications including establishing that products are correctly oriented for handling by robots in an automatic feed work cell and checking for cracks in sheets of metal as they are unrolled.
Several features of the P4 AREA sensors make them easy to use. For example, the sensors perform live inspections without a PC and use remote TEACH to permit simple push-button inspection changeovers on the line without a PC. The sensors also feature Dynamic Thresholding to self-adjust the sensor to compensate for degradation in light sources.
The compact, self-contained P4 AREA and AREA 1.3 are available with two lens positions: in-line (on the end of the housing) and right-angle (on the side of the housing). Both versions measure only 66.8 mm wide. The in-line model is 136.1 mm long and the right angle model is 124.5 mm long.
