SKF CARB toroidal roller bearings serve as non-locating bearings in large electric motors with their capability to accommodate very heavy radial loads and compensate for misalignment. Their suitability for both coupled and belted loads provides users with a single bearing solution for motors, regardless of mounting method, and can help reduce motor inventory needs.
These self-aligning roller bearings combine design features from several conventional bearing types to promote optimized performance, reliability and longer service life.
CARB bearings can adjust for axial expansion of the shaft internally (similar to a cylindrical roller bearing). Long self-guiding rollers (similar to needle roller bearings) maximize load capacity.
A special design of the rollers further allows CARB bearings to reduce the potential for skidding on the raceways and broadens their application to coupled motors with relatively light loads.
