Robotic screwdriver

The OnRobot Screwdriver allows manufacturers to automate assembly processes quickly and flexibly. Programming requires only entering the appropriate screw length and torque value into a user interface integrated into the robot’s teach pendant. With precise torque control and embedded axis, the screwdriver automatically calculates the necessary speed and force. It can detect incorrect screw length, improving quality and reducing scrap. With the Z-axis, screws are retracted inside the tool and driven automatically once the robot arm moves into position, which reduces robot arm movement and additional programming. Screws up to 35mm long are retracted completely inside the screwdriver when moving until the screwdriving process is safely initiated.

Stepper motor controller

The EZ4Axis23WV stepper motor controller driver runs four independent stepper motors using intelligent controller circuitry. It features programmable acceleration ramps and speeds using four independent 1A (2A peak) PWM chopper drives.

The device, with dual encoders, measures 2.25" x 2.25" x 0.60", operates from a 9V to 32V supply, and regulates any motor current via software command. A 3V motor can be run using a 24V supply, allowing users to design-in the EZ4Axis23WV regardless of application power. It can also operate at up to 59,000 microsteps/second.

Commands are sent via RS-232, RS-485, USB, or CAN-based communications. The system designer can communicate from their application via a serial port or use the EZCommander Windows application. The device can operate in a stand-alone configuration without connecting to a PC. It also includes 12 digital I/O and two 1A power on/off drivers.
