MORET HAN100 CUSTOMERS AND PROSPECTS FROM THE METROPOLITAN NEW YORK AREA PREVIEWED Doosan Infracore's 2007 family of turning centers and machining centers during an open house hosted by 21st Century Machine Tools at the Doosan Infracore headquarters in West Caldwell, NJ.

New among the featured turning centers was the twin turreted Puma TL. With its 30hp or 35hp spindle motor and programmable tailstock, the TT is designed to make quick work of parts up to 39 in. long. Other Puma turning centers on display included the MX mill turn, the TT with twin turrets, dual spindles, and Y-axis capability, and the 2000SY Y-axis machine with subspindle. Particularly popular was the versatile and economical Lynx 220LM now available with live tooling and milling capabilities.

Among the featured machining centers were the economical DMV3016L, the DMV4020d – a proven favorite among mold and die makers – and the horizontal DHC400.

Live demonstrations on each machine emphasized its ability to machine complex geometries within exacting tolerances, and with mirror finishes. In addition, several of the machines were shown with new designs and colors, intended to improve operating ease and convenience while enhancing the work environment.

Additional exhibits at the open house included Sandvik tools and tooling systems, SMW chucks, ATS workholding systems, Tsuda Koma rotary tables, and Gibbs CAD software.
