Among the new inserts being displayed by Sandvik Coro - mant, two new generation milling grades, GC1030 and GC4240, allow for higher efficiency in steel milling. GC1030 uses a PVD coating to improve wear resistance, making it more versatile and reliable. The GC4240 contains an entirely new substrate and CVD coating to offer high security, and excels in shoulder milling and other steel milling operations that require high-metal removal rates.
The GC1030 also performs well in titanium and high temperature alloys.
Sandvik Coromant also plans to display its new CoroMill 365, representing a new concept in cast iron milling, as well as their CoroDrill 805, a tool that performs deep hole drilling without moving the workpiece.
