Balluff Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Balluff GmbH & Co., introduces its new BOS 6K miniature photoelectric sensor. The sensor measures in at 32mm x 20mm x 12mm. It enables transparent objects to be reliably identified, regardless of shape, color or composition. The new retroreflective sensor's extremely low hysteresis makes it especially well-suited for detecting transparent objects, such as glass bottles, test tubes and transparent films in industrial packaging applications.
The BOS 6K is designed using the autocollimation principle, meaning that the emitter and the receiver are on the same optical axis, which ensures a high degree of switching accuracy. A built-in polarizing filter suppresses interference such as reflection, increasing process reliability. The sensor's pulsed, visible red light increases ambient light rejections and makes setup adjustment simple.
