The Okuma MU-500VA-L with THINC-OSP control brings abundant power with spindle speeds up to 35,000rpm and X, Y, Z cutting feedrates of 1,260ipm. The trunnion construction provides superb positioning accuracy with ±1 arc second repeatability of the A and C axes. The standard Hi-G control function reduces positioning time and greatly reduces noncutting time. The rigidity and simultaneous 5-axis machining allow for precision-crafted components with a maximum load capacity of 1,100 lb. The direct drive motor on the C-axis allows turning up to 1,000rpm, and a lathe function up to 12,000rpm. Thermo-Friendly Construction (TAS) offers critical 0.1µm compensation while the Okuma Abso-Scale system guarantees accurate positioning. The demo cell will also feature the ChipBlaster TD-30, THINCOSP ready, 480V powered high pressure coolant system, and Renishaw tool breakage detection and auto gauging spindle probe.
