The Microlution 5100-S 5-axis CNC micro-milling machine, a high-performance, vertical bridge-style linear motor machining center, is specifically designed for high-precision, small part applications.

This small footprint, highaccuracy machine is built from precision- ground granite, utilizes linear motors along with Heidenhain glass scales, and has in-process workpiece measurement capability. The 5100-S achieves its fourth- and fifth-axes through a trunnion-style configuration and features built-in pallet workholding. Microlution's 5100-S can also be configured as a vertical 3-axis machining center by removal of the trunnion.

One spindle option of the 5100-S is the 50,000rpm IBAG HF-45 spindle with speed range of 5,000rpm to 50,000rpm - upgradable to 60,000rpm. Torque is 0.12Nm and 0.15Nm while the bearings used are permanent grease-packed precision ball bearings. The toolholding is direct pneumatic tool clamping that is ATC compatible.

The other available spindle option is the 70,000rpm IBAG HF-60 with speed ranging from 7,000rpm to 70,000rpm, bearings being oil-mist lubricated precision ball bearings (steel/ceramic), and torque being 0.20Nm and 0.25Nm. Toolholding is the SKI 16 tooling system (taper and face contact) with maximum tool diameter of 1/4".

Workholding options for the 5100-S are a 200mm x 200mm table for 3-axis configuration; a System 3R Macro Pallet System available for both 5-axis and 3-axis configurations; and an Erowa ITS Pallet System available for 3-axis configuration.

In-process measurement without removing parts or tools is delivered by the Renishaw probe system with probing capabilities along five directions in the X, Y and Z axes, two sigma repeatability of -1µm, is IPX8 rated, and has a standard stylus diameter of 0.5mm.

The automatic tool changer and tool sensor options ensure fast toolto- tool time with the tool sensing options being either a Blum Touch Probe or a Blum Laser.
