Machine connectivity
SmartBox 2.0 introduces MQTT and OPC communication protocols, which significantly improve data exchange and interoperability with a broad range of industrial systems. This version also includes an industrial-grade edge computer PC as standard, advancing its capabilities for machine monitoring and analysis while incorporating advanced cybersecurity protection.
SmartBox 2.0 leverages MTConnect technology to deliver real-time manufacturing data, allowing shops to optimize operations, boost efficiency, and quickly adapt to changing market conditions. The integration of edge computing addresses the challenges of real-time data processing by combining the benefits of decentralized cloud architectures with the efficiency of local network systems.
SmartBox 2.0 is equipped with an AES-compliant fully managed switch and an additional lean managed switch, providing top-tier security similar to IT server rooms, but tailored for the demanding factory environment. The device supports up to 10 machines for MTConnect monitoring and includes standard Industrial I/O interfacing, offering scalable connectivity for diverse manufacturing setups. SmartBox 2.0 works with any machine regardless of make or model and mounts conveniently on the side of machines without the need for integration into the machine’s electrical cabinet.
Coating system
V.MAX1500 PVD and DLC flexible coating system offers new capabilities, including up to six wall-mounted cathodic arc and/or magnetron sputtering sources. It’s designed to meet manufacturing needs in cutting and forming tools, precision- engineered components, medical devices, automotive/aerospace parts, and other functional components.

Double sided inserts
Quick-2-Cut Mini double-sided tangential inserts are designed for precision grooving & parting on Swiss-type machines. The system design features stable cut and very high insert toughness offered in insert widths of 0.33mm (0.013") up to 2mm (0.079"). The inserts can cut up to 12mm (1/2") part diameter. The complete insert range can be clamped on the same toolholder. Pinpointed coolant directed to the cutting zone improves insert tool life and surface finish. Superb clamping provides stable cut and safe machining with consistent repeatability. The inserts are designed with a positive rake angle and a P-type chip former and deliver easy and fast insert indexing via screw clamping. Shank sizes available are 10mm (3/8"), 12mm (1/2"), and 16mm (5/8").
