Smart tool management

To offer an optimal tool data management and tool dispensing system, HAIMER has partnered with the TCM Group – which has WinTool and Toolbase product lines – to deliver the HAIMER WinTool. As a software solution for tool and data management, WinTool enables the management of tools, resources, machine programs, processes, and master data. Toolbase is a smart tool dispensing system that includes individually configurable tool cabinets and software. It enables efficient access management via barcode, RFID, or manual interaction.

In the future, all HAIMER Microset presetting devices can be equipped with WinTool as standard. HAIMER has already done some work and has prepared all parameters, step, and .DXF data in accordance with DIN 4000 and ISO 13399. The data is available to everyone for download on the HAIMER website and the Tooltracer data platform.

Case hardened shafts ready to ship

Case hardened tapped or threaded shafts that are ready to ship are never annealed, so outer diameters are ultra precise – tolerances are always reliable. Tapped shafts can be ordered with one or both ends tapped in either case-hardened carbon steel or stainless steel. Threaded shafts can be ordered with one or both ends threaded in case-hardened carbon steel. Diameters range from 1/4" to 1-1/2". Travel lengths sections available from 6" to 36".

Guaranteed diameter tolerance of ISO g6 and straightness tolerances of 0.001" to 0.002" per foot. The case-hardened steel, precision ground shafts have a 10rms to 16rms micron finish. Case hardness is Rockwell C60 to C64.

By eliminating difficulties customers encounter precision machining threads and bevel ends in case hardened shafts, simply choose the diameter and standard travel length required and the 52100 steel shaft will be shipped direct. 440 stainless steel is available by quote.

Swiss-style machines

Kentucky-built SYNCREX 25/7, 25/8, and 25/9 machines feature 7-, 8-, and 9-axis performance, respectively, with sliding headstocks that run full bar capacity with no special bar end prep.

The Mazak High Damping Composite Casting (HDCC) provides a high-rigidity base with greater vibration damping characteristics, less thermal growth, and greater part surface capabilities than a cast iron base. The spline-connected sliding head spindle heightens accuracy and minimizes bar remnant length to reduce material waste.

The automated tool presetter – Mazak Swiss Setup Assist (MSSA) – checks and measures up to 36 onboard tools to optimize and reduce tool setting process time. An optional MT Tablet that creates a twin-screen system allows the operator to work with off-line programming systems (ESPRIT or AutoDesk-PartMaker) at the machine to help reduce setup time and increase production.

The SYNCREX series relies on the MAZATROL SmoothSt CNC with 15" touch-panel for easy input of setup and programming data. Intuitive user-friendly screens make it quick and easy to touch off tools and prepare the machine for automatic cycles. The optional Mazak Swiss Setup Assist (MSSA) further enhances fast and easy production, along with the optional Mazak Dynamic Chip Control (MDCC) functionality that increases chip-management performance.
