Dr. Mitch Amish discusses a new nasal pillow mask that promotes healthy sleep.
Teleflex Medical introduces the Bravo nasal pillow mask. This mask is used with sleep therapy systems in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
Did you know that OSA commonly affects more than 12 million people, just in the U.S.? What happens is that people with sleep apnea literally stop breathing repeatedly during their sleep, often for a minute, or longer. If you are affected by this, your breathing can stop as many as hundreds of times during a single night.
The Bravo mask features an ergonomic, lightweight design that successfully combines comfort, quality and versatility by providing an exceptionally quiet sleep experience. The mask has interchangeable nasal pillows and the flexibility of multiple sleeping positions. This design produces a higher level of comfort for you, the sleep apnea patient, promoting greater acceptance and compliance.
I spoke with Tim Hopper, VP/General Manager of the Medical Products business unit, Teleflex Medical, and he told me, "Teleflex Medical is pleased to add the Bravo nasal pillow mask to our OSA product portfolio." Who can blame him, Bravo is a cutting edge, innovative solution that addresses the unmet needs of the sleep apnea patient.
Teleflex's OSA product portfolio also includes the Hybrid and the Nasal Aire II sleep therapy interfaces.
The Hybrid interface is a unique fusion of technologies designed to be a universal interface for patients, clinicians and providers. Its proprietary design enhances patient comfort and compliance by eliminating pressure points on the forehead and across the bridge of the nose.
The Nasal Aire II features an innovative design that looks, wears and feels like an oversized oxygen cannula. This product is available in standard and petite sizes, making it suitable for a wide range of patients.
The folks at Teleflex Medical have patented Bravo's design. This design creates a superior seal with minimum pressure points. Some of the other highlights that are quite beneficial to you are: an ergonomic design that creates a streamlined appearance, which promotes greater patient comfort; exhalation ports that are designed for quiet operation and minimal jetting; headgear that offers four points of adjustability and that can be slipped over the head without modifying adjustment; and multiple configurations that allow for more options in sleeping positions.
So, if you are one of the millions of people suffering from OSA, grab a Bravo, drift away into dreamland, and enjoy a full night's sleep.
