By combining multiple functions in one unit, the Quadra- Chek 300 (QC300), from Metronics Inc., eliminates product errors by delivering an easy-to-use readout to speed inspections for greater repeatable product accuracy. Designed to provide intuitive touch screen functionality with the use of graphical icons, the readout system is easy to install, learn, and use.
Combined in the QC300 are multiple video measuring functions and displays, a cross line generator, and automated edge detection. Integrated direct camera input delivers a live video display in color on the large high-resolution LCD monitor. Measuring routines and parts are displayed in one line, on one screen.
Optional is automated video edge detection, enabled by four video tools: Straight Crossline to allow the operator to select the edge position; Offset Crossline to locate difficult edges; Single Edge which automatically finds a point along an edge within a circular target; and Multi- Edge that arrow targets direct stage positioning for multiple points along an edge. Use of automated edge detection helps eliminate subjectivity by the operator, increasing accuracy.
Other features aimed at easing operations include user messages, naming programs alpha-numerically, and staging directions that present an arrow to a target.
The QC300 allows complex parts to be easily measured and tolerance displays translate intensive data reports into easy-to-read visual displays. The unit will record measuring routines and store them as programs. Not only does the QC300 have large capacity for program storage, it has a high degree of connectivity with USB ports to connect with computers and printers, an I/O port for interfacing to light sources, and RS323 for serial connection. When users choose video edge detection, BNC and S-Video connections are also provided.
