Rack and Pinion Product line
DIN 7 and DIN 8 quality levels have been added to the company’s rack and pinion products. The StrongLine DIN 5 hardened and ground gear racks use a carburized case-hardening process to increase the strength of the rack, including the tooth flanks and root, maximizing its power density, stiffness, and performance. The TR ISO 9409-1 flanged pinions have compact designs, reducing the necessary amount of drive torque and allowing use of a smaller reducer. These pinions make it possible to achieve dynamic axis drives with precision and repeatability. The HighForce rack and pinion drive systems, which have an integral output housing and outboard bearing, provides a rigid support to the output pinion, increasing the linear stiffness of the system by 300% as well as increasing the power density of the system.

Robotic Machine Tender
The Model LT10D robotic machine tender provides an automated method for loading and unloading parts into and out of a lathe, mill, grinder, or any machine tool. A drawer-based system is utilized for parts storage. The robot automatically opens the top drawer, grips the first raw part, and loads the machine tool. After the raw part is processed by the machine tool, the robot unloads the part, placing it back into the drawer or onto an optional take-away conveyor.

High-Speed Milling
The C5 high-speed milling machine is designed for precision milling of small parts with a single clamping operation. With its ability to machine titanium and steel, the C5 is suited for 5-axis applications within the medical industry. Material blanks up to 60mm in diameter can be milled with simultaneous 5-axis capability, allowing for the machining of highly complex geometries. Exceptional surface quality is achieved through the machine’s rigid, low-vibration design. The rotary swivel axis is driven by dynamic torque motors. Its 1.8kW high-speed precision spindle operates up to 48,000rpm.

Vacuum Disc Sanders
Air-powered vacuum disc sanders allow for efficient coatings removal by capturing the actual contaminants to the vacuum source. They include 2", 3", 5", and 7" diameter vacuum sanders for smooth, controlled operation. The vacuum shroud of each tool diverts dust and debris to the vacuum source. The right-angle design of each tool features a rubber over-mold on the housing for smooth operation and less vibration to the operator. Each tool powers abrasive discs for efficient material removal on non-ferrous surfaces such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, painted aluminum, and other materials. As the tool is sanding, the flexible vacuum shroud captures dust, debris, and contaminants, including hexavalent chromium, to the vacuum source.

UV Laser Markers

The Samurai DPSS, 355nm, UV laser markers and low cost UV lasers feature high peak powers and repetition rates, making them suitable for marking and engraving materials such as HDPE, ceramic, plastics, and metals. By using the 355nm wavelength, the Samurai provides a small spot size and large depth of focus. UV lasers take advantage of a cold marking process that does not require high average power levels and allows damage-free marking on many materials.

Applications using the Samurai UV cold laser marker include product coding, micro-machining, marking, sapphire scribing, ITO removal, semiconductor, and medical packaging. Unlike IR lasers, UV can utilize photo-ablation or photochemical responses rather than thermal-ablation, which can damage many materials.

Thermal Drilling
The main benefit of the drill press is the material that would normally be cut using the conventional drilling process is used to push through a bushing that triples the material thickness. This bushing can then be tapped and used instead of welded nuts, nipples, or inserts. The process can also be used in CNC or milling machines. Parts can also be designed with lighter and/or thinner materials. This 40-year old process features clean, no-chips operation, as well as the feeling of pushing into butter as the steel is heated with the friction and transformed into a plastic state to form a built-in insert.

Laser Marking Workstations
Available in two sizes and three models, each featuring a worktable, rotary table, and expandability to five axes – the M-Series enables the processing of multiple part sizes. The M-Series workstations are height-adjustable and have a control panel that can mount on either the right or the left side of the workstation. Combining the IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning) with the M-Series workstations enables precise and repeatable markings. IMP detects workpieces and their position, automatically, and aligns the marking accordingly.

Cylindrical Drive Technology
The MV wire machines feature non-contact cylindrical drive technology, an improved power supply, auto-threading, deeper submerged-wire threading capabilities, and other functions. The cylindrical drive technology uses a linear shaft motor rather than a flat-plate design, limiting the effective magnetic flux to only half of its potential. Its round magnetic shaft creates a non-contact design using the full 360° of magnetic flux, delivering no wear, no cogging, and no backlash.

Also on display will be four general purpose milling vertical machining centers as well as the MWX3 waterjet machine. Additionally shown will be the Consumable Products Group line of OEM quality consumables, including filters, brass wire, zinc-coated wire, diffusion-annealed wire, and more.

Retaining Rings
The Hoopster retaining rings fit into shallower grooves than regular snap rings or retaining rings. The Hoopster’s low profile, precision circularity and small radial size allow it to be an unobtrusive component in an assembly. Hoopster retaining rings are suitable for light to medium loads and are good for thin-wall tubes. The low-radial profile will not twist or deform under load as with conventional retaining rings in high thrust applications. Hoopster retaining rings are installed without special tools. Standard sizes are stocked from 3/8" to 3" and available in carbon and 302 stainless steel.
