Matrix Control Software
CamLink software supports Mazatrol Matrix control in its GB\DataTransfer, GB\DataPrint, GB\DataEntry, GB\GeoEntry, GB\GeoSolid, and GB\DataTranslate software programs. GB\DataEntry allows Matrix users to program the Mazatrol control at the PC. Functions include pocket milling with multiple islands and B-axis indexing for lathes. In addition, users can check their programs for accuracy and note potential errors before parts manufacture. Tool Path for Matrix Mill allows users to view part shape and cutting path before sending the program to the control. The Tool Path is viewable in wire frame or 3D solid mode. The ShapeCheck graphics check feature shows the part shape in a 3D surface model or wire frame, allowing rotation of the part shape, and sets transparency level. In addition, users can select from a unit list, view the selected unit on-screen, and see the corresponding Mazatrol code highlighted in the program.

MTM Capabilities

ShopFloor Device For Shop Monitoring
Powered by Android technology, the RTStation is an embedded shopfloor device that displays machine-monitoring details such as part counts, cycle speeds, and other machine processes in real time. Designed for easy data input, RTStation provides machine downtime information, prints work orders, logs rejects for production reporting, allows for operator clocking in/out, and displays job set-up information. Application-Specific CNC Kernel Software
The Flexium CNC kernel, with its soft PLC, allows OEMs to use the same control system across a range of machine designs. It is available for use on small machines with up to five axes and on much larger machines with up to 200 axes. Flexium HMI is programmable using standard tools such as HTML, Java Script, or one of the PC-based rapid software development environments. This flexibility makes it easy for users to customize their machines. Reducing Tool, Machine Wear
The V25 CAD/CAM software offers 3-axis toolpaths, such as adaptive roughing, which produces a trochoidal-style cutting strategy to reduce tool and machine wear and tear. As traditional roughing toolpath puts heavy loads on the cutter in corners, this toolpath eliminates sharp turns that wear on the tool and replaces them with smooth spiraling motions. Another feature is the multiple machine setup capability, allowing users to pick a face of the part to set up the next program on the same part. The addition of a stock setup wizard simplifies the process of setting up the parts stock.

Multi-Axis Software
Providing fine control over tool motion in swarf machining applica tions, this software can minimize rotary motion as the tool approaches, providing a smoother toolpath and better surface finish. Internal corners can be rounded or sharp, while external corners have sharp, roll around, or loop options. A 5-axis roughing strategy takes triangle mesh geometry as input. Three-axis roughing offers automatic adaptive feedrate and differentiates climb and conventional cuts.

Simulation Software
Vericut 7.2 is a CNC machine simulation, verification, and optimi zation software enabling users to eliminate the process of manually proving-out NC programs. It reduces scrap and rework. The software simulates all types of CNC machine tools including Mori Seiki, Mazak, Makino, Matsuura, Hermle, DMG, DIXI, and Chiron. MILL-TURN Machine
The patented 12-position mill-turn serv o turret of the Diamont 42 SY2B has 12 live tool stations, four of which are capable of 360° B-axis rotation, to machine parts in the main- or sub-spindle. Main- and sub-spindles are built-in with MP Scale C-axis construction that helps obtain higher spindle rotation accuracy and better surface finish during the cutting operation. Mastercam X6 includes Mastercam Blade Expert, Mastercam Swiss Expert, new stock models, and so much more. A machining stock model views and verifies work as it progresses, and performs stock model comparisons. Blade Expert simplifies toolpath creation for any multi-bladed parts, including fans, propellers, impellers, and turbines. It includes multi-axis roughing strategies while an automatic tool axis control ensures smooth machine motion. Design of Swiss Expert is to control Swiss-style NC machines. CNC Monitoring
The FactoryWiz CNC monitoring system simplifies monitoring for many newer CNCs. In addition to previous support for Fanuc i-series, Haas, and MTConnect-compatible controllers, FactoryWiz has native support for newer Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Okuma controllers. FIVE-Axis Machining
Vortex for the PowerMILL CAM system for high-speed and 5-axis machining adds to FeatureCAM software for feature-based programming and the PartMaker system for programming Swiss-type lathes and turn-mill equipment. The patent-pending Vortex design is to gain the maximum benefit from solid carbide tooling, in particular, those designs that can give deeper cuts by using the full flute length as the cutting surface. Simulation Software
MachineWorks v7.2 allows users to handle true swept volume surfaces for stock sampling, allowing the system’s engine to operate independently or jointly. Sampling technology can be used as part of a full machine simulation, while true solid simulations can be carried out with more memory control as memory usage is not dependant on the number of cuts in the toolpath, but on the grid resolution representing the stock. Internal multi-threading to engines in the suite provides faster speeds when running on multi-core CPUs. Also on display is Polygonica, which automatically closes solids and fixes self-intersections. The toolkit provides useful functions for STL manipulation such as slicing, geometry simplification, and Boolean operations.

Version 2013 Software
The design of Version 2013 Software is for programming CNC mills, lathes, wireEDM, mill-turn centers, and Swiss-type lathes. The software has post-processors and machine simulation files for many machines, including Citizen, Mazak, Star, Mori-Seiki, and Tsugami. Version 2013’s Advanced Surface Machining (ASM) module replaces the company’s Surface Machining Wizard (SMW) module for 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining. For existing PartMaker users, the upgrade to ASM will be free of cost. ASM provides fast toolpath calculation, greater tool control, and improved surface finishes. The ASM module feature high-end milling strategies that can be applied across the entire suite of PartMaker CAM applications. PartMaker 2013 also features Delcam’s Vortex High-Speed Machining Strategies (as part of ASM), which enables users to gain the maximum benefit from solid carbide tooling.

Production Monitoring Software
StatusWatch Production Monitoring Software delivers accurate and detailed information on asset usage. The web-based interface provides quick access to asset information to construct reports that represent both current and historic data, create calendars to filter irrelevant data from reports, and implement visible StatusLight Smart Andons, allowing users to react faster to events on the shopfloor and keep track of processes. A point-and-click graphical interface makes it easy to configure anything from complex light relations to barcode inputs. Single, Double, and Free-Standing Modular Enclosures
TS8 modular enclosures are available in single-door, freestanding and double-door, flo or mount models in stainless steel rated to UL-Type 4X standard. Made from Type 304 stainless steel, they offer as much as 15% more space due to a 3D frame structure. Green CNC Technology
The Sinumerik 828D BASIC T (turning) and BASIC M (milling) CNCs will be running on various machines at IMTS. Design of the Sinumerik 828D BASIC T is to address the needs of shopfloor turning machines by combining CNC, PLC, operator panel and axis control for five axes/spindles, including live tooling. Milling and drilling operations, for both face and peripheral surfacing, are possible. When used with the Sinamics S120 Combi drives package, the 828D BASIC T offer virtually maintenance-free operation, as the fans, hard disks and batteries of past CNC machines are eliminated. The Sinumerik 828D BASIC M class offers mirror-smooth surfacing while reducing machining times during the moldmaking operation.
