CMM software
CMM-Manager 3.5 for Nikon’s iNexiv vision measuring equipment integrates vision measuring, autofocus laser scanning, rotary indexing, and touch probing to provide a true 3D multi-sensor system for inspecting physical products based on 3D CAD models.
By interfacing with the CAD model – an integrated part of measuring and inspection with the iNexiv video measurement systems – users can take programming and inspection offline, improving programming work, saving time, and bringing products to market faster.
With CMM-Manager 3.5, users import a range of 3D CAD models and can pick features to create automatic probe paths for vision and tactile measuring. Regardless of part complexity or geometry, parts are automatically aligned for the most efficient inspection and measuring. Simulations can be run and inspection results can be verified in real time.

Yasda micro machining center
The Yasda Micro Center YMC 430 Ver. II is for ultra-precise manufacturing and surface finishing on small, complex features. Linear motor-driven controlled axes and a rigid machine structure offer speed, precision, and surface quality. It is available with 3-axis or 5-axis capabilities. Linear positioning and circularity accuracy of <1µm (according to ISO 230-2 1997) is possible.
The 40,000rpm HSK-E32 spindle minimizes vibration and offers high reliability and repeatability in micro-milling applications. A symmetrical H-shaped column and a low-center-of-gravity structure provide high rigidity to the YMC 430 Ver. II.
The YMC 430 X-Y table has linear guideways and motor drive. Linear motor drives include optical scales that support and sustain sub-micron milling performance.
In the optional 5-axis micro-milling configuration, the YMC 430 is equipped with a motor-driven, direct-drive, high-precision tilting rotary table. This combination provides multi-face indexing and machining as well as simultaneous 5-axis machining without re-chucking. Applying the direct-drive motor to a tilted rotary axis creates backlash-free, high-speed, high-precision positioning.

Metal additive manufacturing system
The SLM 280HL metal additive manufacturing system is a mid-range machine with a build envelope of 280mm x 280mm x 350mm featuring a bi-directional re-coater. Build times can be reduced by 30% by laying fresh powder on the build plate in both directions, as opposed to coating in one direction and then returning to a home position. Multiple laser configurations, including twin 400W or dual lasers of 400W and 1,000W, also increase build speeds compared to single laser options.

Slant-bed, auto-loading CNC lathes
The GT-27 SL 3-axis, gang-tooled, slant-bed is a 7.5hp, 6,000rpm, 5-C collet spindle machine with 13.5" of cross travel and a C-axis with driven tools. During IMTS 2016, the machine will be truncating an ID and OD thread and using a rotary broach as part of the machine demonstration.
Also on display will be the compact footprint ASL-100 Auto-Loading CNC lathe for processing of parts up to Ø2.3" with an automatic part load and unload station. A 6,000rpm, 15hp spindle with a 6" hydraulic chuck is standard. The machine is equipped with a 12-station tool turret and a driven-tool turret is available.

Abrasive waterjet system
The MicroMax waterjet upgrades include accuracy enhancements and expanded accessory compatibility. The standard Omax Tilt-A-Jet cutting head offers greater precision and virtually zero taper with most materials. The machine’s linear traction drive system uses optical encoders to provide a positioning accuracy of <5µm. Protective bellows seal off all precision components inside the MicroMax, and rigid construction minimizes vibration, enhancing accuracy.
An optional catcher tank cooling package keeps water at a steady 72°F, preventing the work material from expanding or contracting during machining. The Omax Precision Optical Locator (POL) add-on accessory can locate existing points, edges, or holes in a pre-machined part for secondary machining operations or reverse engineering of a part where this is permissible. Also available is a rotary axis for full 6-axis machining.
The MicroMax is compatible with the Omax Variable Speed Solids Removal System (VS-SRS) for efficient removal of garnet from the waterjet catcher tank.
