HURCO COMPANIES, INC. HAS HIRED JACQUES VIAU to operate the new Canadian division, Hurco Canada, Ltd. As Sales Manager, Viau will oversee business development, sales, service and support for customers throughout Canada.
Viau has more than 15 years of industry experience. He has worked extensively within the aerospace industry, starting his career in quality control implementation for aerospace parts made on large gantry machine tools. Later, he worked for a machine tool builder that specialized in complex parts for the aerospace industry. Prior to joining Hurco, Viau worked for a German manufacturer and specialized in milling and 5- Axis equipment for the Canadian market.
Viau has gained valuable knowledge of best practices by visiting machine tool manufacturers and customers in many countries including Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Switzerland and Germany.
This experience led him to appreciate the quality construction of Hurco machine tools. "The attention to detail is very impressive and users of Hurco machine tools always tell me the control is the best on the market—that made it clear to me that I wanted to work for this world-class company," said Viau.
