Expansions
Scapa Healthcare broke ground for a purpose-built medical device manufacturing facility in Knox County, Tennessee. Once completed, the 152,000ft2 facility will double Scapa Healthcare’s footprint and integrate the company’s three Knoxville buildings into a single site, allowing for greater operational efficiency through proximity and scale. The new facility is projected to increase Scapa Healthcare’s employment opportunities in Knox County by about 20%.
Protolabs has purchased a new manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, expanding its prototyping and low-volume production capacity. The company recently invested in additional manufacturing equipment for both its American and European facilities to support business growth. ProtoLabs will add an additional 50,000ft2 to the 152,000ft2 facility, primarily for CNC machining.
