Holo expands material offering

Metal additive manufacturing company Holo now offers PureForm MicroAM in copper, stainless steels, and other metals. PureForm MicroAM produces parts with features smaller than 50µm, enabling a wide range of applications in medical and dental devices.

“Traditional manufacturing approaches, such as Swiss CNC, molding, and casting are either too costly for volume production or can’t produce complex parts with such fine features,” says Hal Zarem, CEO. “PureForm MicroAM enables our customers to access parts at a lower cost and produce geometries that cannot be made any other way.” AM applications enabled by PureForm MicroAM include stainless steel biopsy scoops used in medical applications with sharp point features down to 20µm and dental abutments with printed functional threads that hold a 200µm pitch. https://holoam.com

Spearheading sustainability for 3DP

Stratasys Ltd. announced its commitment to lead 3D printing (3DP) with an ESG-focused offering, establishing its Stratasys Sustainability function and appointing Rosa Coblens as vice president of sustainability. Stratasys officials say its commitment to a circular economy, climate action, and social impact is paramount to furthering its 30+ years of leadership in polymer 3D printing.

Stratasys CEO Dr. Yoav Zeif says now is the time for mindful manufacturing. “The new global economy requires companies to adapt and overcome unexpected challenges, while maintaining a commitment to environmental stewardship,” he says.

To advance its commitment to sustainability, Stratasys joined the Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association (AMGTA) as a Founding Member, with Coblens serving on the AMGTA Board of Directors.

Stratasys also identified four U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the cornerstones of its purpose-driven sustainability efforts. Measurable goals are being designed as part of 2022 focus areas: Responsible consumption and production; industry, innovation, and infrastructure; climate action; and quality education. https://www.stratasys.com
