Fadal's family of high performance HMCs offered with heavy, rigid cast iron designs with ribbed surfaces throughout have been optimized through FEA to provide the strength, rigidity, vibration dampening, and thermal stability required to support a 24/7 duty cycle. Common features of Fadal's HMCs include a one-piece, cast base with 3 point leveling for easy installation, Fanuc CNC technology for easy operation, and a simple pallet forward design for safe and easy access to key areas.
The HMC-400, with its standard ‘coolant thru' 10,000 rpm, 15 hp (11kW) spindle and generous X/Y/Z axes travels of 24 in. x 22 in. x 22 in. (610mm x 560mm x 560mm) with ±0.0003 in. The automatic pallet changer with twin 400mm² pallets can handle up to 880 lbs (400kg) per pallet and supports continuous, uninterrupted production. The standard B-axis rotary table with ±7 arc sec. accuracy delivers full (simultaneous) fourth axis contouring. Utilizing rigid linear guideways and heavy-duty, reinforced castings, the HMC 400 delivers rapid travel rates up to 1,200 IPM
