Operating continuously during the show, Kurt will show a fully-integrated automated indexing system of a robot, multi-station workholding, indexer and gage with process control. The Kurt Engineered Systems offering is the result of the formation of a new Kurt Division combining its Custom Engineered Workholding group, its Electronics Division, and partnerships with robotic integrators.
The system demonstrated at IMTS 08 includes a Fanuc LR Mate 200iC six axis robot interacting with a Kurt CTHDM6 hydraulic tower, mounted to a Haas HRT310 4th axis indexer and a Kurt gauge. The CTHDM6 tower will be modified and plumbed for double acting hydraulics that will allow sensing positive movement when the workholding closes and opens on a part to be machined. The fully automated gage will measure and record features on the machined part. Recorded data for process control, product traceability and process capability studies will be captured and displayed in real time.
