The Grindline laser measuring system is for on-line gaging of parts produced by centerless grinding machines that require single or multi-diameter checks. Installed at the output of the grinders, clean parts are passed through a laser beam that registers hundreds of measurements along the axis of the component. Signals from the gage are processed by the software, which can extract data that pertains only to ground features, ignoring grooves, threads, or other shape irregularities. Information is then compared to the pre-set nominal value, and if the process drifts out of the pre-set limits, the Grindline software automatically adjusts the grinder to compensate for wheel wear and to keep within tolerance limits.

High-speed milling; wire, die-sink EDM

The Mikron MILL S 400 Ucompact high-speed, high-precision milling machine features a 42,000rpm spindle and rapid traverse speeds of 61m/min in X, Y, and Z axes.

With 5-axis capability, the machine allows workpieces to tilt ±110° and swivel 360° for complex and concave part features. Integrated automation provides fast and easy pallet loading/unloading.

The CUT P 350 wire EDM provides precise positioning and contouring capabilities and features a highly efficient power generator. Several automation options for lights-out operation are available.

The AgieCharmilles FORM P 350 die-sinking EDM is a compact C-axis machine with a fixed table and cast-iron frame for high stability and force reduction to maintain precise spark gap between the part and the electrode, delivering consistent accuracy and surface finishes down to Ra 0.1µm. Integrated glass scales preserve long-term repeatability without the need for recalibration.

Data collection software

ShopFloorConnect gathers production data from every machine in the factory, displays key performance indicators (KPIs) in real-time, and produces detailed analytics, including overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) reports in various formats. The software can increase manufacturing capacity and profitability by identifying and quantifying excessive production losses and bottlenecks.

This scalable, flexible production monitoring system is compatible will all enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, providing OEE calculations for complex manufacturing environments.

Metrology solutions

Starrett will have a range of metrology solutions on display at EASTEC 2019.

The HVR100 FLIP digital video system works vertically or horizontally for application versatility. It provides rapid measurement results and features a large field-of-view (FOV), automatic part recognition, and easy-to-use measuring tools.

The AVR300 automatic vision system, for repetitive measurements and automatic comparison to CAD files, features zoom optics and interchangeable telecentric lenses for micron-level resolution and accurate FOV measurements.
