Measuring microscopes
MM-400N and MM-800N series measuring microscopes now have aperture diaphragm control on the diascopic illuminator, allowing an operator to adjust the aperture to optimize contrast and resolution. It’s also possible to set the lighting conditions for measuring cylindrical products.
The newly developed diascopic LED illuminator has white and green light sources, allowing the operator to change from one color to the other by pressing a switch on the front of the microscope. Integration of the diascopic illuminator into the main body of the measuring microscope shortens the depth of the instrument by 30mm.
Power consumption has been reduced 10% compared to former MM-400/MM-800 series models. Additionally, many component parts are common to the new and previous series models, including the measurement stage, objective lenses, and optical accessories, which a user can continue to use for simple, accurate, and highly reproducible measurement applications.
Addition to the TuffCut 3D family
TuffCut 3D XFO and XFO-AL series tangential radius form allow high accuracy finishing of large drafted/radiused surfaces and blended fillets with one tool. The series design enables machining with a large stepover during finishing & semi-finishing operations with high accuracy and efficiency. With tight tolerances and wide range of material suitability, this tool family is best used in the medical, motorsport, aerospace, and die/mold industry.
The XFO series has 4 to 6 flutes, with metric sizes from 6mm to 12mm and is coated with ALtima Q – allowing for optimal heat and wear resistance for increased tool life. Its progressive helix and rake angles allow for smooth, vibration-free finishing along with enhanced edge preparation for strength and stability. The XFO’s material focus is in stainless steels, titanium, and high-temp alloys for femoral implants and bone plates in the medical field.
The XFO-AL series has 3 to 4 flutes, with metric sizes from 6mm to 12mm and is coated with Fordlube coating for increased wear resistance and lubricity. The enhanced notch design, along with its high shear action, makes it an optimal cutting tool for aluminum machining.

Side clamps for universal, specific purposes
The new side clamps with clamping thread GN 9190.1 can be fastened to a machine table or fixture by T-slots for easy machining of workpieces. The clamping force of the rotary-mounted clamping jaws acts both laterally and from above to pull down on the workpiece and clamp it against fixed stops and the supporting surface. The low overall height of the side clamps enables the workpiece to be machined across its entire surface. Fluted or prismatic clamping jaws and side clamps with or without integrated support are available, depending on the application.
The side clamps are also available with a ball point screw or adjustable hand lever with an integrated ball point screw. The latter enables the clamping element to be actuated without tools. When the clamping screw is loosened, the jaws are retracted to their initial position through spring force, and the workpiece is released.
