Upgraded laser scanner

The LC15Dx laser scanner has been redesigned for improved accuracy, resolution, versatility, and efficiency. For more than a decade, the LC15Dx laser scanner has been used for efficient measurement and inspection of manufactured components, especially those having complex freeform geometry such as orthopedic implants, turbine blades, and intricate plastic parts. Compatible for use with all industry-leading metrology platforms and software, a new version of the sensor has been launched with functionality that has been significantly updated in several key areas.

Updates include:

  • Improved accuracy numbers (according to ISO 10360-8 standard)
  • ISO Probing Size Error All accuracy improved from 15µm to 10µm
  • ISO Cone Angle improved from 100° to 125°
  • Structural resolution improved from 90µm to 50µm
  • Higher laser power and high ISO mode for better data coverage on dark, shiny parts
  • Boot-up time reduced from 27 seconds to 14 seconds
  • Increased 16V input voltage providing better signal quality on larger CMMs
  • New layout of storage flight-case

The unit can provide a huge amount of point cloud data in a short time for comprehensive insight into what’s under investigation, whether it’s a prototype, production component, or assembly, enabling color-coded, 3D CAD-to-part mapping for rapid understanding of process variations.
