
Brian Twohey has been appointed national sales manager at Rollomatic Inc. for the United States and Canada. Having joined the company in 2007 as senior applications engineer, Twohey’s hands-on understanding of all technical aspect in tool grinding and cutting tool production will greatly benefit the sales team as well as the customer base. Twohey will also join the Group Management Team at Rollomatic/Strausak North America.

Harry Danford
joined XJet Ltd. as VP sales North America, a new role within the business. The appointment is part of a wider strategy to establish presence and nominate leaders in major regions, with Andy Middleton assigned in Europe and Lior Meron in Asia Pacific.
In memoriam

James S. Gleason, a Gleason board member and former chairman and CEO of the Gleason Corp. died June 17, 2022, at the age of 88 years old. Jim, a great grandson of the company’s founder William Gleason, contributed to the company in various roles, continuing to serve as a director on the board until his death.
Jim started working in the company in 1959 holding various positions and ultimately becoming CEO in 1981 until 2002. During his time as CEO the company went through significant transformation more than doubling in size both through organic growth and acquisition and recommitted to its strategy of global leadership in gear technology, broadening its range of products and further expanding its geographic manufacturing footprint.
Beyond his accomplishments within Gleason Corp., Jim held leadership positions in industry trade organizations along with board representation in various business, social, charitable, and educational organizations. He also held leadership positions within the Gleason Family Foundation (formerly Gleason Foundation) which for many years was one of the largest charitable donors within the Greater Rochester area and in recent years, supporting initiatives aimed at improving primary and secondary education on a national level.
