Coated implants for surgery

Orthobond Corp.’s successful in-house production and commercial delivery of its OSTAGUARD coated first in human components occurred only eight months after the FDA granted De Novo clearance for OSTAGUARD, a non-eluting coating designed to actively kill bacteria contaminating the surface of a medical device in the operating room.
“We ‘ve established 10 partnerships across diverse applications in several medical fields, including orthopedics, plastic surgery reconstruction, ophthalmology, ENT, and dental, demonstrating industry interest in a novel antibacterial technology to address significant clinical issues,” says David Nichols, CEO of Orthobond.
OSTAGUARD is positioned to address the need for bacteria control in medical devices as the first of its kind to be granted this De Novo classification. The proprietary surface technology has been tested on numerous surfaces against a set of microbes representing nearly all cases of device-related infections. OSTAGUARD is applied to a medical device surface during the manufacturing process prior to packaging and sterilization permitting a transparent usage benefit to clinicians. https://orthobond.com/
Next-gen film-cast PTFE liners

StreamLiner NG is the latest addition to Zeus’ StreamLiner series of ultra-thin-walled catheter liners.
Using a new, proprietary film-cast process, Zeus can produce StreamLiner NG with significantly improved consistency when compared to existing film-cast liners, to reduce imperfections and pinholes commonly seen in other offerings. This consistency, combined with the exceptional sizing and tolerances of existing StreamLiner offerings, results in an ultra-thin liner with noteworthy flexibility, mechanical performance, and reliability.
The StreamLiner NG catheter liners are Zeus’ most flexible liners for traversing complex vasculatures, such as those found below the knee and above the neck, to deliver critical therapies. https://www.zeusinc.com
