MicroMo Electronics announces the expansion of its Brushless DC motor product line with the addition of its Series 2057…B, featuring an external motor-diameter of only 20 mm and a length of 57 mm. The motor uses the "System FAULHABER" skewed winding in combination with a rotor made of Neodymium rare-earth magnets to provide cog-free motion. Due to their electronic commutation, the service life of these motors is limited by the bearings. The brushless DC motor can achieve a continuous output torque up to 18 mNm at speeds up to 58,000 rpm and comes in a sterilizable version capable of withstanding an autoclave environment. The housing of the motor is black to facilitate optimum heat dissipation. The Series 2057…B brushless DC motor is suitable for applications such as medical or dental hand pieces. The Series 2057…B DC motor can be combined with a gearbox and encoder for a complete miniature DC drive system. Planetary and spur gearboxes are available in both 20 and 23 mm diameter with various reduction ratios allowing an output torque up to 700 mNm. The 2 channel magnetic encoders allow for precise control of speed and direction of rotation as well as the positioning of the drive shaft. MicroMo Electronics, Inc. Clearwater, Florida micromo.com
